Weapon Requirements confusion - Guild Wars Forums

K, i was just wondering if theres a 2 identical swords but 1 of em has a lower req. Will the lower req. sword take more damage than the higher 1?

As long as your swordsmanship is at 12 it will not make any difference. But if you only have the required ammount, the one with the lower requirement will deal less damage.

its doing its full damage, but you dont deal 100% of the weapons damage until 12 swordsmanship. There is no bonus for being higher than the requirement, but there is a penalty for having less than 12.
